Thursday, September 8, 2022 - 7:00pm to 8:00pm
Digital Media Lab
Do you want to start your own website? Or are you taking over a WordPress site from someone else? Learn how to get started building a website on the framework behind more than one third of the internet’s websites.
There’s a lot you can customize - no coding required – and we’ll focus on what you can do with just the WordPress admin pages. We’ll walk through the most common tasks like adding pages and blog posts, changing the theme design, and adding functionality with plug-ins.
After the presentation there will be a few laptops with WordPress installed for you to try it out.
No experience with making websites is necessary. You’ll use skills such as navigating using a web browser, filling in online forms, and finding files on your computer.
(Note: WordPress is free to use for building your website, however it costs a variable amount for web hosting to make your website available on the internet.)
Presenter: Alyssa, ICPL's web developer
Registration is requested to aid in the room set-up, but drop-ins are welcome.
