Book to Art Club is the last Wednesday of every month for preschool through 2nd Grade. Each month we will read a picture book and create custom art inspired by the story! This week is Banned Books Week, where we celebrate the freedom to read and recognize current and historical attempts to censor books in libraries and schools.
Todd Parr is a beloved picture book author and illustrator who has several books that have been banned or challenged, including "The Family Book," which showcases families of all kinds, as well as "Be Who You Are," which celebrates everything that makes us all unique and special! After reading and discussing, we will create portraits in the style of Todd Parr's art, using paint, oil pastels and collage techniques!

Book to Art Club es el último miércoles de cada mes para preescolar hasta segundo grado. ¡Cada mes leeremos un libro ilustrado y crearemos arte personalizado inspirado en la historia! Esta semana es la Semana de los Libros Prohibidos, donde celebramos la libertad de leer y reconocemos los intentos actuales e históricos de censurar libros en bibliotecas y escuelas.
