04/11/2023 7:00pm 04/11/2023 8:00pm Let's Talk Books: Suspense Suspense fiction can be found in most any of the Fiction genre. They are stories that create a sense of apprehension or anxiety in the reader through an unpredictable, high-stakes plot that can contain red herrings or unreliable narrators. Often the readers are privy to information that the main characters are not. Suspense differs from Thrillers in the sense of anxiety and dread created for the reader, while Thrillers are faster passed and often contain extreme wide-spread danger. Some well-known suspense authors include Agatha Christie, Gillian Flynn, Lee Child, and Arthur Conan Doyle. Not a traditional book group, Let's Talk Books is a series of casual online conversations about books. We meet on Zoom the 2nd and 4th Tuesday evening of each month and the genre or theme for the discussion changes each time. We each bring a few titles to share, and by the end of the discussion we all have a few new titles on our to-be-read lists. Register here and you'll receive a confirmation email with the Zoom login details. You'll also get a reminder email a few days before the event. Everyone is welcome!
