Book to Art Club is the last Wednesday of every month for preschool through 2nd Grade. Each month we will read a picture book and create custom art inspired by the story!

In recoginition of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, we will read a story about a famous Japanese American artist called A Boy Named Isamu.  Isamu Noguchi (1904−1988) was among the most innovative American sculptors of the twentieth century, creating works that were far ahead of his time. For our art projects, we will recreate two kinds of sculptures he created--"Akari," Japanese paper lanterns, and interlocking cardboard sculptures that can be rebuilt over and over again.
