Youth will share their experiences with mental health, and community organizations and local speakers will share educational resources and information on how to help advocate for those experience mental health crises. Art projects and light snacks will also be provided.
Schedule of events are as follows:
1:30-1:45- Parth Patel, Youth Mobile Crisis Coordinator for CommUnity Crisis and Food Bank
2:30-3:00- Karen Smith, mother, wife, and fundraiser who walked 312 miles across Iowa to raise awareness and help end the stigma of mental illness.
3:00-3:30- Youth Open Mic- Young people are invited to share their work around mental health.
