In 2015, United Nations member states adopted 17 Global Goals or Sustainable Development Goals designed as a shared blueprint for urgent action on problems such as hunger, gender inequalities, climate change and more. Each goal has attached targets intended to be met by 2030. But how much progress have we made so far? And what are the challenges and opportunities ahead?
Join us for an informative discussion with University of Iowa faculty who use the Global Goals as a means to teach sustainability: David Bennett, Professor and Department Chair of Geographical and Sustainability Sciences; David Cwiertny, the William D. Ashton Professor of Civil Engineering in the College of Engineering; and Jerry Schnoor, Allen S. Henry Chair in the College of Engineering.
