The ICPL Bookmobile will be at the June 22 Juneteenth Commemoration from Noon to 4:00 pm. This year’s commemoration will be at Mercer Park, 2701 Bradford Drive in Iowa City. More information about Iowa City’s Juneteenth commemoration is available at the Juneteenth Facebook page.
Juneteenth is an annual commemoration of the 1865 abolition of slavery in the United States. Sometimes Juneteenth is called African American Emancipation Day.
