Meeting Room A
In honor of National Poetry Month, write and perform a poem entirely through the guise of a sock puppet.
First, you will create your puppet using an array of provided materials. Next, you'll be guided through an experimental writing workshop allowing you to try several different poetic forms including acrostic, blackout, haiku, and concrete. Finally, you and your puppet are invited to perform your poem (or recite an already-published poem) from our puppet theater.
If you allow it, performances will be recorded and compiled into a video shared on the library's YouTube channel (your face will not be visible). This event is for 3rd-6th graders ONLY.
