Press ReleaseICPL's Summer Reading Program Begins June 1

American poet Robert Frost wrote, “Two roads diverged in a wood, and I – I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.” The 2022 Summer Reading Program theme, Read Beyond the Beaten Path, invites the community to try new things, embrace new experiences, and explore new ideas.

The Summer Reading Program takes place from June 1 to August 14, 2022. Registration can be completed starting June 1, in person at the Library or Bookmobile, online via Beanstack, or by printing out a PDF of the Summer Reading log. Participation is free and available for all ages, babies through adults. The Library will award prizes in August by drawing winners from among all completed entries submitted online or at the Library or Bookmobile by August 14.

As part of the program, the Library will provide opportunities for all ages to explore beyond the beaten path at free and fun Library events throughout the summer. Programs include a visit from the Iowa State University Insect Zoo, Felted Animal DIY, the Great LEGO Pride Build, Bookmobile activities at Iowa City Farmers Market, Photoshop for Beginners, BYOBook, and more!

More information and support, including help registering for the program, is available at icpl.org/srp or 319-356-5200.
