Kara Logsden Kara Logsden will retire on June 5, 2020 after 21 years of heading the Library's Community and Access Services Department, Help Desk and ICPL Bookmobile. Logsden also led the Library’s Volunteer Program, Public Relations and Marketing teams and outreach services for adults and teens. During her tenure, Logsden oversaw the transformation of video programming from analog to digital, introduction of an online meeting room reservation system, archiving of local history video programs, and integration of the Library’s Circulation and Fiction Desks into the current Help Desk, which offers circulation, reader’s advisory and other services. Logsden worked on a team to plan for the expanded 2004 Downtown Library and led the team that introduced ICPL Bookmobile Services in 2017. As a nearly life-long resident of Iowa City, Logsden held a deep knowledge of our community, passion for service and commitment to making a difference every day.
