Outreach

We are continually looking for ways to reach beyond the walls of the main building downtown into the community.

Bookmobile

We are bringing the Library to you! The Bookmobile is visiting places all around our community. Check out the Bookmobile schedule for the specifics.

At Home Services

For those with barriers to coming to the Library building or Bookmobile, we offer At Home library service free of charge to residents of Iowa City, Hills, Lone Tree, University Heights, and rural Johnson County.

Learn more on the At Home Services page.

Tales and Travels Memories

For people with dementia, staff use themed kits to help stimulate memories. For more information, or to schedule a Tales & Travel Memories program at your facility, call (319) 887-6025 or email heidi-kuchta@icpl.org.

Collections

We maintain small collections at Broadway Street Neighborhood Center and Pheasant Ridge Neighborhood Center. The community is welcome to check out materials from these locations.

Storytimes

We do storytimes at local day care centers and preschools. Call us at (319) 887-6028 to schedule a visit.

Begin With Books

We provide a library information packet and free board book to every baby born in an Iowa City hospital, in partnership with Hills Bank & Trust Company.

Let's Work Together

We are always looking for new ways to be involved in the community. Have an idea for how we can partner with your organization? Let us know!
