Long time Iowa City residents have probably heard of “Captain Irish,” but what do we really know about him? In 2000, a new road, the "Captain Irish Parkway" was built to join Scott Boulevard and North Dodge Street/Hwy 1, but the name changed to Scott Boulevard before the road opened. This presentation traces the history of Frederick Macy Irish and his remarkable family.
