This month marks the 2-year anniversary of the first COVID-19 shut-downs. Can you easily remember all the different phases we've been through or have you blocked out entire parts of the pandemic (eg. washing off your groceries or hanging paper hearts in your window)?

We want to provide you with an opportunity to start processing what you've been through -- reflect on what's happened, meet with others doing the same, and share your thoughts if you like. If you're wanting a little guidance, we've chosen 10 prompts that you can journal about, discuss with someone close to you, or simply reflect on these elements of the pandemic:

  • Adaptability
  • Masks
  • Outdoors
  • Silver linings
  • Work
  • Connections
  • Grieving
  • Home
  • Illness
  • What's next?

Take some time to journal on your own, and we’ll meet in person at the library on March 29 for a community conversation facilitated by library staff. Your journaling can take any shape you like: daily reflections, long form writing, art/word art, quick associations...whatever feels right for you. We look forward to hearing what your reflections uncovered and looking for similarities and differences in our pandemic experiences.

Read our blog post for a couple examples of how we might use the prompts.

Registration isn't necessary, but we encourage it so that we can arrange socially-distanced seating in the Meeting Room. Also, registrants can stop by the Info Desk to pick up a journal and pen, to get you started for the event!
