Please consider donating your book, DVD, or other media to our collection.   The Iowa City Public Library accepts donations of items by local creators or of local significance to its collection if it meets our collection development policy. It is a way for you to share your work with the community and for us to share community experiences and stories in our collection.

You may have heard the news stories listing shortages of paper, ink, cardboard, and shipping container space. Or the ones about labor shortages in warehouses and the shipping industry. And with books sales up 21% from 2019, there is more demand for print books at a time when publishers cannot fulfill their orders. Experts are calling it a "perfect storm" for the publishing industry.

Anne Mangano has worked for the Iowa City Public Library since 2007, serving as the Collection Services Coordinator since 2013. In this position, she oversees the Library’s collection, including the selection, cataloging, processing, repair, and removal of materials. She also plans and directs ICPL’s digital collections, including the Local Music Project and the Digital History Project. Anne holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts and a Masters in Library and Information Science from Simmons University. She lives in Iowa City with her husband and two children.
