Soak up the rest of summer!


summer16 July is here, which means our Summer Reading Program -On Your Marks, Get Set, Read! -is half over! With the program coming to an end July 31st, there is still plenty of time to sign up to get your reading done to earn great prizes and a chance for one of the grand prizes!

We also have a full line up of great programs coming up in July, here are a few of our bigger children’s events:

Dino

Dino O'Dell will be at the Library on July 7th at 10:30 am in Meeting Room A. Dino is full of energy and will delight the crowd with his fun music! You might even learn to speak space alien!

July 12th is a busy day for us at the library! First up for Tweens at 2pm, join our special guests from the ISU Insect Zoo for Bug Olympics! Events like the Cockroach Pull, Roach Races, and Cricket Jumps. Then get up close and personal with the other awesome multi-legged creatures at the Bug Olympics Display.

Up at 7 pm on July 12th, is international award-winning entertainer, juggler and acrobat Laura Ernst for a special all ages event. Her performance will include her award-winning juggling, acrobatic hula hoops and her human-sized hamster ball!

On July 14th at 10:30 am & 1 pm, the Hanson Family will be here to entertain us with a one-of-a-kind act. This family of 7 from Iowa are all unicyclists and jugglers, sometimes doing both at the same time! They are amazing and you will be wowed by all they can do!

Sunday, July 17th at 2 pm, The Grout Museum will present, Snakes Alive. Yes, there will be live snakes in the library! Come learn all about snakes and get up close to some of the most feared animals on the planet!
