Kanopy changes coming November 1

Attention Kanopy lovers! Starting November 1, Kanopy is making their credits more transparent by switching to tickets. You will get 16 tickets to use each month, and the titles you choose to watch will tell you how many tickets it costs.

And watching trailers is still free! Pressing Play on a title will cost you the amount of tickets listed next to the movie or TV show. Not ready to spend them? Put it on your Watchlist! 

New to Kanopy?

Stream over 30,000 films entirely free with your Library Card. You can stream free movies and TV shows with your library card.* It has thousands of feature films, documentaries, and bingeable series. Here's how to get started:

  1. Go to https://icpl.kanopy.com
  2. Add your library card number
  3. Create a Kanopy account
  4. Start watching!

 

*Access to ICPL's Kanopy collection is limited to residents of Iowa City and our contracted service areas. Residents outside these areas can contact their local library about using Kanopy with their home library card.

    I love it when my kid picks out his own books. My 3yo read this one at the library and I just had to check it out for real and bring it home. He couldn't stop laughing at the hilarious adventures the character was having while his dad had his nose in his smartphone. You don't want to "miss" this story! -Melody
