Introducing Featured Collections on

Community and solidarity--with love from ICPL Librarians are expert homebodies. Stacks of books cover our coffee tables and nightstands. Our book shelves may be neat and orderly or chaotically filled with our latest treasured finds. Cultivating and supporting the life of the mind is our purpose and calling. Staying home and enjoying life should be a piece of cake, right?

If only it were that easy. We might have all the entertainment options at our fingertips, but no one is immune to the fear and uncertainty the coronavirus pandemic has caused. Dear readers, you are not alone. We are with you.

It pains us that in-person browsing of the Library collections is not a zero-risk activity. We are actively trying to create ways for you to find something you will love on our shelves. Our latest endeavor is the new Featured Collections tool on our home page. These Featured Collections lists highlight available books about popular topics, which you can conveniently and safely browse from home.

You may have stumbled across our horror stories list last month. This month, we are welcoming chillier days with books about coziness and warmth. We’ve pulled together lists that support your goals to stay home and be well. You’ll find the following:

  • Picture books about sharing and gratitude in our Be Thankful list
  • Books on family activities in our Things Kids Can Make & Do list
  • Baking, crafting, and wellness books in our adult nonfiction Cozy & Well list
  • Stories with family—love ‘em or hate ‘em—front and center in our Family-Focused Fiction list

Books to help you stay cozy and well

Explore these books to your heart’s content. Click on one to reserve it for you. Our collections are here to serve you and your family’s needs, especially as the days grow shorter and darker. Take advantage of these finds as we all stay home, together.
